Counselling

A space to be curious about your own life.

Without having to hold it all together.

Is this for you?

Who this is for

You might be grieving. You might be exhausted by a pattern in your relationships that you can see clearly and still cannot break. You might have carried something from childhood for so long that it feels like a fact about you rather than something that happened to you.

Or you might simply feel that something is not right, without being able to name it yet. That is a perfectly good reason to come.

How I work

A safe space to understand, heal and grow

Life can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, loss, low self-esteem, or major life changes, counselling offers a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin to make sense of your experiences.

I provide a warm, compassionate and confidential environment where we can explore your thoughts, feelings and relationships at your own pace. My approach integrates person-centred and psychodynamic therapy, bringing together the strengths of both approaches.

At the heart of my work is the person-centred belief that healing begins within a safe, trusting and non-judgemental relationship. I aim to create a space where you feel accepted, listened to and valued, allowing you to explore whatever feels important to you.

Alongside this, psychodynamic therapy helps us gently explore how past experiences, relationships and unconscious patterns may continue to influence the way you think, feel and relate to others today. By developing a deeper understanding of these patterns, we can begin to make sense of current difficulties and create opportunities for meaningful and lasting change.

Together, we’ll work to understand not only what is happening in your life today, but also the experiences that may have shaped the way you see yourself and the world. As your understanding grows, so too can your capacity for self-compassion, resilience and choice.

Counselling isn’t about fixing who you are. It’s about helping you understand yourself more deeply, reconnect with your strengths, and create the conditions for healing, meaningful growth and lasting change.

The practical details

Sessions and fees

Counselling sessions last 50 minutes and are held on a weekly basis to provide consistency and continuity throughout our work together. The fee is £65 per session. If cost is a barrier, please feel free to discuss this with me, as a limited number of concessionary spaces may be available.

I generally work on an open-ended basis, allowing therapy to progress at a pace that feels right for you. For some clients, however, short-term counselling may be more appropriate, depending on your needs and goals. We can discuss the most suitable approach during our initial session.

Sessions are available online or by telephone, offering flexibility and accessibility wherever you are. All you’ll need is a private, comfortable space where you can speak freely and a reliable internet connection or telephone.

Trust and confidentiality

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is at the heart of the therapeutic relationship. I want you to feel safe to talk openly, knowing that what you share with me will be treated with respect, care and confidence.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework. To ensure I provide the highest standard of care, I attend regular clinical supervision. During supervision, aspects of my work may be discussed, but your identity and any information that could identify you will always remain confidential.

There are a small number of exceptional circumstances where I may need to break confidentiality. This would usually only happen if I believed there was a serious risk of harm to you or to someone else, if I was required to do so by law, or if there were safeguarding concerns involving a child or vulnerable adult. Wherever possible, I would aim to discuss this with you first.

If you have any questions about confidentiality or how your information is handled, I will be happy to discuss these with you.
